About
After Brighton Art College, I was at the Royal College of Art for three years, where our studios were housed in the V&A. On arrival there, I was commissioned by The Times newspaper, (a relationship that continued for the rest of my student life), also by various magazines, working mainly on fashion and costume features.
After the RCA, my first professional job was as a fashion illustrator in Paris and following on from that, commissions in advertising, editorial, publishing and animation.
While maintaining my connections in London and the USA I joined agents in Amsterdam and Hamburg.
I have also taken part in many an exhibition, including a number with my extensive collection of space toys and robots and the artwork inspired by them. The collection began while at the RCA, with my love of early science fiction films and comics and not least, motivated by the work of Eduardo Paolozzi.
Teaching has always been an important part of my life. First at the University of Brighton, Northbrook College, Worthing and finally at Kingston University, London. I am happy to record that many of my students are still good friends.
I am currently designing and firing off rockets and if I don’t blow myself up, I will be very happy to hear from you…
